Madison County High School was the first school in Madison County and was originally located in Gurley, Alabama. Gurley High or Madison County High was a K-12 school and in 1999 they moved grades 9 - 12 about five miles west of the original school on highway 72 at Brock Road. Grades K-8 are all still located at the original site and some of the original buildings built in the 1930's are still in use.
