Grand Pointe is a beautiful neighborhood located just north of Tuscaloosa County High School near U.S. Highway 43. It is a large neighborhood as the development is 286 acres. It has approximately 337 homes in the neighborhood with that number expected to approach 400 by the end of 2020. It is located inside the city limits of Northport so homes receive water, sewer, garbage and recycling services from the city of Northport along with service from the City of Northport Police and Fire Departments. Homes in Grand Pointe are zoned for Northport Elementary (Pre-K - 2), Huntington Elementary (3-5), Echols Middle (6-8), and Tuscaloosa County High School (9-12). Amenities include a neighborhood pool (located on Shade Tree Lane) and security cameras at all four entrances to the subdivision. The original master plan for Grand Pointe included a community clubhouse, playground and community park but as of now, only the community pool has been constructed. Grand Pointe features large estates down to garden homes. Plans for a higher-end apartment complex called Beacon Place Northport featuring twenty-two one-story buildings, each containing six units, all with their own garage, have been proposed as part of the site plan for Phase eight of Grand Pointe.
