For many years, there were no condominiums at all in Orange Beach. Then, in the 1980's, several high rises were built. One of the earliest (built in 1984) is the Four Seasons of Romar Beach. What makes this wonderful complex so unique is that it's the only complex with a private, gated steel pier on the Gulf in Orange Beach. Originally known as Judge Dunn's Pier, the pier has been rebuilt to sustain severe weather. The complex is a family favorite, especially for those who love to fish. My brothers, nieces and nephews are avid pier fishermen, and night fishing on the pier has become a treasured family tradition during summer beach gatherings at the Four Seasons. Fishermen and ladies have been known to pull up fish ranging from flounder, Spanish mackerel and even sharks. If you have the opportunity to visit this Orange Beach landmark, (sales are rare in this low-density building), you may want to become a Four Seasons owner yourself. Units are priced between $350,000 and $475,000, depending on floor plan and location in the building. The center units - the 02 and 03 stacks - are considered most desirable because of their direct Gulf views. However, the side units in the 01 and 04 stacks offer large balconies and generous 3 bedroom, 3 bath floor plans. The on site security is excellent, there is a guard at the gate 24 hours a day, and codes are required to access the beach and the pier. There is a large outdoor pool centered between the two towers, an indoor pool, fitness facility and private owners' lounge and meeting rooms.
