The current chamber is over 1100 members strong!

Western Supermarket located at 3350 Morgan Drive in Vestavia HIlls cooks real food. I was amazed to pay $4.99 for fresh okra, collards, black-eyed peas and fresh cornbread, not out of a can but fresh! You should check it out.

The Magical Marketplace has been hosting this event for 19 years and counting. The Magical Marketplace benefits the Unless U organization. This organization is committed to serving adults with developmental disabilities and their families. This bazaar is typically held in late November and you can find art, pottery, baked goods, baby gifts, and other great items.

Vestavia now has a convenient new location to apply for a passport! The Vestavia Hills Library in the Woods is hoping to make the process a little bit easier by offering the service to first-time applicants. All you need to do is make an appointment by calling (205) 978-3683! They will even take your photo on-site if you do not already have one that adheres to federal regulations. Happy Traveling!

We are so excited for First Friday Events in the Art and Entertainment District in the Rocky Ridge Village area of Vestavia HIlls. Something fun for every member of the family! We will have the vendors at the top of Rocky Ridge Square and all of Rocky Ridge Plaza, the music, games and many other types of vendors. We are welcoming Dixie Vintage Antique Car Club, which will be featured outside of Moe's Original BBQ and a new dunk booth at Twisted Root.

While the adults can enjoy a beer or wine outside we will have plenty of kids activities to entertain the entire family! The Ridge will be having amazing drink specials and fantastic food. Check it out! Next event will be the first Friday in September. Stop by the RE/MAX booth for free stuff or just to say hello! Rocky Ridge First Fridays is a family-friendly event. Plan to eat, drink, and shop with Rocky Ridge merchants. You can park at Vestavia Hills High School and ride the free Shuttle
to and from the event from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. There will be Artisans, Craftsmen, performers, and Vendors from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Some other events include: KidZone Games & Entertainment from 6:30-9:30 p.m.,Outdoor Family Movie at the Vet starts at dark, and musicians will perform from 6:30-11:00 p.m.

Saint Mark United Methodist Church is a diverse congregation located at 2901 Columbiana Road in Vestavia Hills. The church's main mission is serving people. There are strong children's and youth ministries at Saint Mark United Methodist Church.

Traditional worship services are held every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. The Sunday morning contemporary worship service happens at 10:45 a.m.

Shades Mountain Baptist Church is located at 2017 Columbiana Road in Vestavia Hills. Although SMBC is a large congregation, it is a warm and inviting church. Visitors are made to feel welcome! There are many ministries associated with Shades Mountain.

Sunday morning worship services are held every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. Bible study is held on Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Wednesday evening activities are held at 6:00 p.m.

Horizon Church is an Assembly of God congregation located at 2345 Columbiana Road in Vestavia Hills. Founded in 1939, Horizon has gone through a number of changes through the years. Sunday morning worship is held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday evening small group Bible study happens at 7:00 p.m.

There are many great places in Vestavia Hills to have dinner. There is none better than The Pita Stop! Located at 3908 Crosshaven Drive, it is convenient to the theaters and shopping of The Summit. The food is absolutely incredible! The menu is varied with many delicious options. From the signature shish kabobs to the fresh seafood or rack of lamb, the Pita Stop's cuisine is sure to please. Try my personal favorite, the filet mignon!

2575 Columbiana Road in Vestavia Hills is the address of a vibrant, growing church --- Fullness Christian Fellowship. Worship services are a mix of upbeat contemporary worship and Bible based teaching Service times are every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Mountaintop Community Church is a nondenominational church located in Vestavia Hills at 225 Centerview Drive Service times on Sunday morning are at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Dress is casual and visitors are encouraged to "come as you are." Parking is abundant and members are warm and welcoming. Inside the atrium is a wonderful coffee bar serving up O'Henry's Coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Vestavia Hills is convenient to so many area's. By car you can be in downtown Birmingham, Hoover, Mountain Brook, McCalla and so many restaurants and places to shop with-in minutes.

I guess there are all kinds of secrets in the Birmingham area. I've lived here all my life and just discovered one of the most charming ones ever......Swann Lake Stables. My nephew and his gorgeous bride married there in November and although it was cold, their wedding had to be one of the most lovely weddings I can remember. It's amazing how secluded the venue seems, but only minutes from all the amenities of The Summit. What a treat! Check out their website!

I've been to Seasons 52 several times and have always enjoyed a wonderful meal there, but I recently found out they offer a fantastic Happy Hour Special! For as little as $15 you can order your choice of one of their delicious flatbreads, a flight of three different wines to taste (select from reds or whites) and you also get a full glass of your favorite. They give you the option of having two glasses of wine instead of the flight, and for $20 you can choose an upgraded wine selection. It's a great deal, great atmosphere! Seasons 52 is conveniently located to Vestavia and other areas of Birmingham at The Summit Shopping Center at Interstate 459 and Highway 280.

Have you ever been to the Library in the Forest? It's a beautiful and fascinating place! Some of the furnishings and ceiling are made from trees that were cut down to clear the building site. The construction also included lots of recycled materials and energy saving designs, earning the library an LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The library is located at 1221 Montgomery Highway in Vestavia Hills and is definitely worth the visit. You'll want to come back again and again!

Late in 2015 Trader Joe's, the Hawaiian twist grocery store, will open at the Summit. Its assortment of domestic and imported groceries plus fresh baked breads and more will be an awesome addition for Birmingham. And the Two Buck Chuck...yes!

Each year hundreds gather at Briarwood Presbyterian Church to be a part of the outdoor walk through nativity. It's an amazing experience for young and old. Families and individuals walk to 13 scenes of the Christmas story of Jesus' birth and the events surrounding it. There are live animals, live actors, speaker narration, and even hot chocolate and snacks inside the church after you are done. There is even a petting zoo that the kids love! The event takes place this year on December 10, 11, and 12 from 6:45-8:45 p.m. each night.

Vestavia Hills has this wonderful small Village on Rocky Ridge Road. The Rocky Ridge business district lies cradled between highway 280 and I-459. Home to specialty shops, hardware and grocery stores, restaurants and boutiques, the Rocky Ridge business district offers a neighborhood ambiance with a small town feel. Its shops, stores and offices are centered in the middle of several upscale
residential developments.
This Village has so much to offer homeowners living and working nearby. Walking Trails along Shades Creek, a beautiful park located at the end of Rosemary Lane. These are only a few of the special places nearby. Restaurants include - Iz Too, Los Arco's, Moe's BBQ, The Ridge, Subway. The new beautiful, updated shopping center with clock tower includes, Western Supermarket, Rocky Ridge Hardware, Continental Florist, and Tangles Hair Salon.

Ashley Wood is a beautiful garden home community in Vestavia Hills built in the mid-late 1980's. It is located on Morgan Road, just off Rocky Ridge Road. All the homes are full brick with master suite and at least one other bedroom and full bath on the main level. They all have a formal dining room and family room with gas log fireplace, large kitchen with walk-in pantry, laundry room and 2-car main level garage.

All the streets are flat so it is great for walking and visiting with your neighbors. And there is a wonderful common area suitable for picnics or just sitting and enjoying nature. This lovely neighborhood is within walking distance to Western Supermarket, pharmacies, shops, restaurants and Andy's Nursery.

I give Ashley Wood 5 stars because it is conveniently located and just a short drive to more shopping and restaurants in Vestavia Hills City Center, the Summit, the Colonnade and the Galleria. It's a wonderful place to live!

If your body begins to ache, go to the Green House Spa and unwind with a facial, massage and makeover! Once you are rejuvenated, take care of yourself further by treating yourself to exquisite taste and fine dining at Flemings.
