The children’s playground at Midtown Village is a small but fun playground. Although designed for children ages 5-12, my two year old son enjoyed climbing up the stairs, sliding down and playing with the plastic drums. For younger children, I would say parental supervision is a must as there are openings and smaller children could fall off the play set. What I love about this playground is the rubber flooring - it is so nice not to worry about dirt and mulch! Midtown Village is one of Tuscaloosa’s nicer destinations for fashion, food and family fun. It’s a great place to grab a bite to eat and do some shopping!

Located in Towncenter, north of the river, Heritage House Coffee and Tea is the perfect place to meet friends and clients or just drop in for coffee, snacks, and wifi. Many times during the workday afternoon slump I stop by just to have caffeine, breathe, and gather my thoughts. It's a peaceful place that offers quiet in the middle of a busy workday.

The Alberta area in the City of Tuscaloosa has an impressive community discovery center. Open seven days a week, students and all area residents can visit the center with a digital library, laptops and study areas. Heritage House Coffee and Tea operates a shop inside the center too! Drop in, grab a coffee, meet a friend, or have a quick business meeting. It's a great location for students to meet after school.

Today I visited the center for the very first time when I was in the area volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Realtor Build Week. The nice staff gave me a tour of the center and I was amazed at the state-of-the-art facility. I plan to take my little granddaughters the next time they visit Tuscaloosa.

As a Tuscaloosa native, I travel by Bryant Denny Stadium weekly and many times enjoy my walk on campus. Home of the Crimson Tide has become an intimidating venue for many other teams to play and is ranked as one of the toughest locations to play according to Bleacher Report and NCAA Football. The Stadium seats over 100,000. The grass on the field is Bermuda grass and is painted every Wednesday, requiring 500 gallons of paint!

The Will May Dog Park within Sokol Park is a great place to take your furry friend for their exercise and yours as well! Developed after a family lost their son, Will May, in a hunting accident, the park is usually busy with families and dogs enjoying their day within a large fenced area. Smaller dogs are separated from the larger dogs so you can relax on one of the park benches and let them play.

What a beautiful tulip tree in the front yard of The Mildred Warner House! The one-story Georgian house went through several owners and survived the Civil War. It was known as the Washington Moody house before being purchased by the Warner Foundation. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is one of the earliest brick houses in Tuscaloosa.

The 69 South and Hillcrest area of Tuscaloosa remains popular because of the schools. There is plenty of shopping, restaurants and churches too! It's a great place to call home.

Because of the popularity of the schools there are many residential neighborhoods within a variety of price ranges. Choose from a small garden home, or a larger 4-bedroom home for the larger family.

Sokol Park has miles of paved biking and walking trails. Fortunately I can walk or bike from my home. And I do often! It's a great way to get out in nature or meet my girls at Ingram's Ice Cream Shop. This path is near the Old Colony Golf Course.

The Park at Manderson Landing located on the Black Warrior River is part of Tuscaloosa’s Riverwalk. It’s one of my favorite places for a hike or bike ride. Maintained by the City, there are lighted walking paths, lush landscaping, river views, iron benches, playground, pavilions and picnic tables. Stop by the retail shops for frozen yogurt or Brunch at Another Broken Egg after your walk. Perfect family activity! And on Saturday mornings stop by the Farmer’s Market for fresh vegetables, homemade baked goods, fresh roasted coffee and local teas.
