Downtown Prattville, Alabama is undoubtedly one of the best things about small-town America, as it is the perfect blend of history, culture, and community spirit. One of the best things to do in the area on a clear spring night is simple walks along the sidewalks and breathing in the fresh air. Downtown Prattville offers a quaint charm that boasts beautiful views of the historic Autauga Creek and a vibrant atmosphere that captures the heart of the community. And, no evening walk is complete without a stop by West Main Creamery for a scoop of Cammie's Old Dutch Brownie ice cream (or your favorite flavor) to savor as you walk along the creek, take in a lovely view of the dam, and listen to the bullfrog songs. Whether you're a local or a visitor, the downtown area of Prattville is a must-see destination that you won't soon forget.

Prattville is called the "Fountain City" because of the numerous artesian wells throughout Autauga County. The Musgrove Fountain is an iconic landmark located in downtown Prattville's Heritage Park. The fountain was commissioned by Gordon and Kathleen Musgrove and completed in 1989. The Musgrove graciously gifted the fountain to the City of Prattville. The fountain is a popular destination for area residents and visitors alike to take photos. It's easy to find! The fountain rests in the curve on Main Street and is seasonally decorated by the City of Prattville.

The City of Prattville, located in central Alabama, was founded in 1839 by Daniel Pratt, who was an Industrialist and Cotton Gin manufacturer. He built Pratt Gin Company on the banks of Autauga Creek. He used the creek to supply power to the manufacturing equipment. Daniel Pratt would go on to build cotton gins that would not only ship throughout Alabama but also around the world.

Since then, there have been multiple locations in the City of Prattville that have been named after Daniel Pratt. One of those locations is Pratt Park which is located off Doster Road. This park is family-friendly and open from sunrise to sunset. There is a children's playground area, a swimming pool, and a splash pad, as well as a pavilion, a pond, and a stadium for sporting events such as football and soccer. The park is easily walkable from downtown businesses and restaurants.
