Wild Timber features custom-built homes on spacious lots. Convenient to I-65 in Pelham and Highway 280 in Chelsea, it is a great central location for commuters. Just a short drive to shopping, and golf as well as Oak Mountain State Park.

    Wild Timber Subdivision
The beautiful subdivision of Wild Timber in Pelham is a wonderful place for privacy yet convenient to I-65 and Highway 280 for everyday dining and shopping. Families are safe to enjoy evening walks or bicycle rides because there is no through traffic in this community, however the rolling hills might be a challenge. The spacious lots and gorgeous homes are the icing on the cake.
  • If you love the south of town and over the mountain area you know that there are restaurants, entertainment, recreation, shopping and everything you could hope for near by. You also know that some of the best neighborhoods in the metro area are south of town.

One of the things that I love about Wild Timber is the location from a commuter standpoint. It is on Shelby County Highway 11 roughly halfway between (4.5 miles) Highway 280 and I-65, the two main corridors south of the metro area.

Highway 280, with all the shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and more is just five minutes away. If you work downtown or in Hoover, you might prefer I-65 which is also just five minutes away. You can go either way, depending on the time of day and, because of the equidistant timing to the major corridors, Wild Timber is "closer" than many of the south of town neighborhoods that, as the crow flies, are actually nearer.

I discovered Wild Timber almost by accident, as I was preparing to return to the Birmingham area. It's on County Highway 11 about half way between I-65 and Highway 280. I knew I wanted to be south of town, and looked at house after house. I made an offer on my home, here in Wild Timber, immediately upon viewing it.

The neighborhood is neat and tidy, with nice homes and well manicured lawns. Houses range in price generally from the high 200's to the mid 300's, with an occasional home in the 400's. But what I love about the neighborhood is the view. Nestled at the base of Oak Mountain, the incredible scenery is breath taking. My covered and screened deck is probably my favorite place to be. I have the most incredible view of Oak Mountain and I have to be careful because my morning cup of coffee can easily turn into a pot of coffee. And when the leaves start turning in the fall, the colors on the mountain are absolutely brilliant. Last year when it snowed, oh, what a view! Absolutely majestic!

The neighborhood is bordered by Oak Mountain State Park property on one side. If you are lucky, you may get a God Gift of an occasional deer in the back yard, like I did a few days ago.
