Best place for a quick lunch on a really hot summer day!!! City Bowls in Trussville is so good. They have many choices to choose from but I chose the Powerhouse Bowl. The base is a cold acai, almond milk, bananas, peanut butter, strawberries, and vanilla whey protein, topped with bananas, blueberries, and Nutella. You can also make your own combination bowl. This is where the kids may go crazy with the Nutella. You can take a short walk from here on the new sidewalks down to the clock tower and enjoy your treat along the way.
  • Edgar’s Bakery was founded in 1998 in Birmingham by Terry and Dottie Smith; they now have several locations in and around the Birmingham area. They have purchased the former Stix and Stuff furniture property, located across the street from Moe’s Original Bar B Que and plan construction to begin soon and hopefully completed in six to eight months.
  • What a treat to visit my favorite chiropractor, Dirk Yasko, and discover it's his birthday today! The best one in town and the staff makes you feel like you're at home. Highly recommend! Happy Birthday, Dr Yasko!
  • It's always a treat to visit Trussville's Salon 2000, and especially in December! Each year the stylists decorate their stations and to say they are a competitive bunch is an understatement. This year included an Abominable Showman Christmas Tree, Wizard of Oz Christmas, and all kinds of colorful and creative displays that I would have never imagined putting together, but I was snapping photos right and left so I'd have ideas for myself next year. It was gorgeous and I'm glad I didn't have to pick a winner. They were all fabulous! If you are looking for a great salon, I highly recommend Salon 2000. I drive across town to have John Michael cut and color my hair. He does a wonderful job and it is such a fun and friendly place, no matter what time of year, they make you feel beautiful and like part of their crazy, fun family!
  • I hope you are as delighted as I am about the Farmers Market in Trussville! If you are looking for local fresh fruits and vegetables plus more, they are back! • We grow and maintain athletes of all ages! This community takes great pride in offering a variety of youth athletic associations. Each association hosts various sporting events keeping the rivals coming back for more! Trussville United Soccer Association (TUSC) has given rise to two State Champion Titles making this competitive club the one to beat. There are four to six miles of biking trails, frisbee courses, and walking or running safe zones for exercise enthusiasts. Generational continued efforts bring this community together, keeping with southern hospitality, year after year! Tour the impeccably maintained tennis courts, soccer, baseball and football fields with the Cahaba River close by. This complex provides an enormous playground -a favored attraction for both the young and old. Just one of the many reasons Trussville is home!

If you're looking for local, authentic, Italian cuisine, you don't have to look very far in Trussville. Costa's Mediterranean Cafe' has some of the best food around. My family's favorites include the baked lasagna or baked spaghetti, which we often order for take-out for an easy large family meal.

  • The Trussville residents wished for a library soon after the Cahaba Project opened. We soon had our first volunteer librarian and from that one the staff has grown to 14 paid employees. The library moved several times over the early years and the current location is on 201 Parkway Dr. The first library building was dedicated in 1965 by Mayor John C.Yarbrough and Librarian Nettie Lightsey. The library joined the Jefferson County Library Cooperative in 1978, with addition of a automated computer system. The library underwent significant renovation in 1988 and again in 1996, and finally an addition that was dedicated in November 1997 that doubled the library's size. The library sits in the heart of the Cahaba Project and is a major contribution to the community. If you have not visited the library lately, there are audio books, DVDs, and much more. Take advantage of the wonderful children's activities offered and they will love you for it!

  • Lakeside is the perfect place to live. I love waking every morning to a view of the lake and mountains. A lot of planning went into the development of this small community. There is only one cul-de-sac street and 11 custom built homes. Each home was designed specifically for the lot and to compliment neighboring homes. This community offers a private lake, fishing, no through traffic, a beautiful entrance, guard house with custom designed stained glass door and windows and, best of all, GREAT neighbors!
  • If you are looking for fun for the entire family make a visit to the Trussville Play Station. There is a large skating rink, laser tag, outdoor batting cages, putt putt golf and, my favorite, a go cart track. You can also book a birthday party! My family just loves visit there!
  • The Mall is located in downtown Trussville in the Cahaba Project area. On any given day, you may see many activities there, from ball practice, to Frisbee throwing. From time to time in the warmer months you may find "Movie on the Mall" where a family movie is shown. Just bring your lawn chairs, blankets and the family and come out and enjoy. There is always a 4th of July celebration at the Mall, with live music, fireworks, kiddie rides and activities for the whole family. Th annual "Celebrate Trussville" has lots of activities for the everyone. Oh, and I can't forget the famous Christmas Parade, that starts at one end of the Mall and finishes the other where we have the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree!
  • This beautiful stream with crystal clear water is one of the very few trout streams in our area. You can see the fish swimming right in front of you. It is a wonderful place for a family fishing trip. So, put on your waders and grab your fly rod for a fun day of fishing...hope you catch one. You may see my family and me out there hoping to catch our limit.
